Tasikmalaya Inside Out

Tasikmalaya is a city and regency in southeastern West Java, Indonesia, between Bandung and Purwokerto on the southerly of the two major road routes across Java.

Town of Trade is a suitable sentence that describe Tasikmalaya, famous for its handicraft industries like embroidery, mats, matting, umbrellas and kelom geulis (traditional clogs made from woods). Tasikmalaya’s tourism sector currently has not be the superior yet, but its development continued and go along with the development of craft industry.

Object and leading tourist attractions in Tasikmalaya among embroidery industry and factory outlets, are agro tourism in Urug area, nature tourism in Situ Gede and Situ Linga Yoni.

Besides the location of Tasikmalaya, there are still in Tasikmalaya Region that offering nature tourism activities, cultural and special interest located in the region of Gunung Galunggung, Pamijahan Pilgrimage area, Cipatujah Beach, Pamayangsari Beach, Sindangkerta Beach, Goa Antek, Goa Daha, Batu Pancangkeupan, and Curug Dengdeng. One of tourist attraction which is well known by foreign tourist is Kampung Naga, a Sundanese traditional settlements which is until now is still reatin local customs.

Overall Tasikmalaya has tourist potential, the shapes was quite varied, and objects that are not only offered natural beauty of natural scenery, but there are many other tourist attractions such as cultural tourism, religious tourism, agro tourism, culinary tourism, shopping and others.

§ By Car

Tasikmalaya is about 106 Km from Bandung, it can be reach within 2.5 hours travel from Bandung using national road via Limbangan - Malangbong - Ciawi or 3.5 hours travel using alternative road via Garut - Singaparna.

§ By Bus

Tasikmalaya can be reach by Bus from any major cities in Java such as from Jakarta (24 hours bus from Jakarta are available), from Bandung (daylight from 5 AM to 7 PM), Surabaya, Semarang, Cirebon, Bekasi and Yogyakarta.

§ By Train

If you want to head to Tasikmalaya by Train, it can be reach by Executive and Business class train from Bandung, and also economy class train from Kiaracondong Bandung and from Jakarta.
